Robbers kill 2 policemen, 2 bank staff in Kogi

Gunmen Wednesday killed two policemen and two staff of a new generation bank during a robbery operation at Ogaminana in  Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The armed robbers were also reported to have successfully carted away N25 million meant for payment of salaries of the local council workers.

Eyewitness account said the incident, which threw many people, including passers-by and street hawkers into panic and confusion, occurred at about 10am.
The robbers were said to have shot severally to send people scurrying to safety as they took off from the bank after the operation.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ACP. Williams Aya, who confirmed the incident, said the police were strategizing to nab the culprits as no arrests had so far been made.
He said the command would ensure that those behind the dastardly act were fished out and prosecuted.
