This Man Abducted A Woman, Tied Her Up And Raped Her 6 times Daily For 5 Weeks

A man identified as, Daniel Selovich has been arraigned for kidnapping, sexual assault and assault charges in Fairbanks Superior Court in Alaska. He allegedly abducted a woman, kept her in his secluded cabin and raped her six times a day for five weeks.
A woman told police an abductor raped her up to six times a day while she was held captive over a five-week period in rural Alaska, with the last attack committed as she heard a military evacuation helicopter landing near the man's remote cabin to take her to a hospital.


The woman said Daniel Selovich, who goes by the nickname Pirate, used duct tape to bind her two hands together at night and placed a rope around her neck, which he hung on the roof beam so she couldn't run away, Alaska State Trooper Matthew Iverson wrote in an affidavit.

The affidavit said the woman arrived in Fairbanks on Sept. 26, and Selovich met her at the airport with a U-Haul. It wasn't immediately clear how they knew each other or where she came from. She claimed the first rape occurred in the vehicle within hours of being picked up. They spent a few days at a Fairbanks motel, where they engaged in consensual sex, Dailymail reports.

Oct. 1, they flew to his cabin about 16 miles south of Manley Hot Springs, a tiny village at the end of Elliott Highway, the only road link to Fairbanks. They lived in a tent for a week while repairs were being made to the cabin, and that's when the beatings and rapes began, she told Iverson. She said Selovich beat her with his fists and belts, kicked her and bit her, and that the sex was not consensual. Iverson said troopers who searched the cabin with a warrant found a knife, several pieces of duct-tape and a roll of the tape. Troopers also found a rope tied to the roof beam.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Nov. 20.

Police arraign 3 teenagers over alleged gang rape of 13-year-old girl

Three teenagers, Elijah Adebowale, Suleiman Balogun and Shefiu Adam, were on Thursday charged before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over the alleged gang rape of a 13-year-old girl.
Adebowale (15), Balogun (16) and Adam (14), who all resides at the Iju area of Lagos, are being tried on a two-count charge of conspiracy and unlawful carnal knowledge of a minor.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Rita Momah, told the court that the teenagers and three others, now at large, committed the offences on Oct. 5, in an uncompleted building at Olopade St., Iju-Ishaga, Lagos.
Momah said that the accused all conspired to lure the 13-year-old to the building, where the six of them took turns with her.
She explained that the accused persons spotted the 13-year-old coming out of a church and sent her to get drinks for them.
According to Momah, the accused offered the 13-year-old a bottle of assorted drink that was already spiked and each of them all had carnal knowledge of her.
The prosecution submitted that the offences contravened Sections 409 and 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charge levelled against them.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 137 prescribes life imprisonment for anyone found guilty of child rape.
The judge, Mr F.A Adeeyo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N300, 000 each, with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to Dec. 7, for continuation of hearing.

3 men docked over alleged rape of 15-year-old girl

Three men, Qaudri Yekini, 23, Moses Osagie, 23, and Ebuka Anosike, 20, were, yesterday, remanded in prison custody by Magistrate T. Abolarinwa of an Apapa Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl (names withheld).
The defendants, who reside at Yaya Crescent, Ajegunle, Olodi Apapa area of Lagos, are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, unlawful carnal knowledge and sexual assault proferred against them by the police.
Prosecutor, Inspector Tony Idibe, told the court that the defendants committed the alleged offences between September and October 2015, before they were caught on October 11. Idibe told the court that the incident took place at the residence of the defendants at about 11:50pm.
The defendants further said that before they were caught on October 11, they also attempted to rape the victim, by touching her private parts and also holding her without her consent.
The offence, committed according to the prosecutor, is punishable under section 409,and 258(1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

However, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.
Magistrate Abolarinwa granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 with one responsible surety each in like sum. The case was further adjourned till November 25, 2015, for mention.

41-year-old man in Police net over rape

Eziama Police Division, Aba, Abia State has arrested a 41-year-old man, Stephen Akunewu, for allegedly raping a 3-year-old girl in Aba.
Akunewu, a barbing salon operator at No. 14 Uzoigwe Extension, off Osusu Road, Aba, was alleged to have used biscuits and sweets to lure the innocent minor who is a niece to his neighbour, into his trap and took advantage of her.
It was learned that a medical examination carried out on the minor showed that she was abused by the suspect as her private part was reddish and bruised.

Vanguard gathered that the minor’s guardian, identified as Mrs. Eunice, who suspected that her niece had been defiled, reported the matter to the police, while the victim fled his residence to evade police arrest.
Luck, however, ran out on the suspect as he was later arrested when he sneaked into his residence without knowing that police laid in wait for him.
A resident of the area told  that the suspect had in 2012, also lured and raped a 2-year-old daughter of his neighbour, but the family was said to have resolved not to report the matter to the police.

When contacted, spokesman of  Abia State police command, DSP Ezekiel Udeviotu, confirmed the incident, adding that the suspect would be arraigned as soon as police concluded investigation.

Security guard docked for rape of employer’s 7-year-old daughter

A 20- year-old security guard, Abass Haman, who allegedly raped his employer’s seven-year-old daughter, was on Tuesday charged before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

The accused, who lives in the gatehouse of his employers’ compound at Plot 20/ 21, Fiyin Dammy St., Magodo, Lagos, is facing a charge of rape.

Prosecutor Jimah Iseghede told the court that the accused committed the offence on Sept. 3 at his employer’s residence.
According to Sgt. Iseghede, the accused forced the seven-year-old girl and had canal knowledge of her.

“The victim narrated her ordeal to her friend and her mother was later informed.

“The accused was then apprehended by the police,” he said.

The offence, according to the prosecutor, contravenes Section 258 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that section 258 (1) prescribes life imprisonment for rape.

The accused, however, denied the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Tajudeen Elias, adjourned the case to Sept. 30 for ruling on the bail application.

Man, 40, rapes 4-yr-old girl to death in Bayelsa

Officials of United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, and other stakeholders in the protection of the rights of the child were shocked, yesterday, to hear of the case of a 40-year-old man that raped a four-year-old girl to death in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.The revelation was made by the State Coordinator of Child Protection Network, CPN, Mrs. Mariam Kombo-Ezeh.

She also revealed two other cases of child abuse, which occurred in the state, including the death of a seven-year-old girl of complications from HIV/AIDS after being raped and infected by a man, and another 13-year-old girl gang-raped in Yenagoa, the state capital. Speaking on Advocacy Engagement with Policy Makers on Domestication of Child Right Act in Bayelsa, Mrs. Kombo-Eze said cases of child abuse and inhuman treatments were on the rise in the state.

She said: “It is pathetic and the cases are on the high side. There is the need for speedy passage of the bill on Child Rights into Law.” In her speech at the stakeholders meeting organized by the state government in collaboration with CPN, with the support of UNICEF, Enugu Field Office, the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Ms. Nengi Rufus-Spiff, said the present administration was shocked by the revelations and would never support child abuse under any guise.

According to her, children in Bayelsa State will be properly protected under the proposed Bill, adding “the parents too should rise to the realities of training the boy-child to respect the girl-child. It is a thing of regret to know that the rate of such abuses is high.” In her message at the event, Chief Field Officer of UNICEF, Enugu office, Mr. Nwanaka Chude Onwurah, commended the state government on the existing policies on the protection and welfare of Bayelsa children. Onwurah, who was represented by Charles Nzuki, expressed optimism that the Child Right Bill would soon be passed into law in Bayelsa.

A 67-year-old man was among 117 suspects paraded by Edo State Police Command, yesterday, for armed robbery, kidnapping and rape.

Ignore rape cases, bag two years imprisonment – Lagos govt

It has become a criminal offence for any worker in the employment of the Lagos State government, who has a direct dealing with children, not to report any case of rape to the appropriate authorities.

The coordinator of the Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team created by the Lagos State government, Titilola Adeniyi-Vivour, said any of such mandated reporters who failed in this duty, risked being jailed for two years.
